THE ROLE OF NATURAL HERITAGE FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DANUBE REGION
(Gorizia, March 22nd – 31st, 2014)
In 2014, two full-day excursions to the area of Idrja (Isonzo/Soča river, mercury mining and pollution) and Idrica river basin (day 1) and to the area of Cona Island (Isonzo mouth) and Lagoon of Grado (day 2), will offer a unique opportunity for students to engage with the sustainability challenges of river basins. During two lecture days the role of natural heritage in sustainable development will be presented and discussed from different perspectives.
The second half of the school will be dedicated to group work by students. Student groups will identify a project they want to develop throughout the school. Group presentations with direct feedback by an evaluation committee will end the experience.
The 2014 DIANET SCHOOL can be offered to you at minimal cost, living expenses as well as tuition being covered by the European Social Fund (Friuli Venezia Giulia Region). You might also be eligible for travel assistance from your home university.
