Decision Support Systems, Sustainable Forest Management, Biodiversity
A short presentation of yourself:
I am working on the science based development of natural resource management concepts for sustainability and biodiversity. The development and application of geographical information sciences and decision support systems for multipurpose natural resource management are part of my research activities. In the field of Conservation Biology I am utilizing population viability risk management (PVRM) approaches to evaluate conservation management strategies. For a period of almost 10 years I am actively involved in the development and application of criteria and indicators for evaluating sustainable forest management at forest management level and in national and international contexts. In this context I am providing expert advice in the implementation of scientifically based practical applications of silvicultural Know How and multi-criteria decision making techniques in Europe and Asia.
